Getting to the Festival
International Travel Guide
Step 1: Arrival in Bolivia
Fly into La Paz International Airport, it's the closest airport for the Thunupa Festival
Recommended: Spend 1-2 days acclimatizing to the high altitude (3,650m/11,975ft)
Step 2: Travel to Oruro
Take a bus from La Paz to Oruro (approximately 3-4 hours)
Our festival team will provide transportation from Oruro to Coquesa village
Step 3: Festival Entry Upon arrival in Coquesa, at the foothills of Thunupa Volcano, you'll be greeted by our welcoming team and guided to your accommodation based on your chosen package:
